Our Director

Our mission is to seek God, reach others for Christ, teach truth, and send servants. We believe that these years in college are pivotal in your lives. Students will either draw near to Christ or pull farther away from Him, and we want to walk alongside of you pointing you to Christ every step of the way.

Darin Ford came to us in 1996 and has been faithfulling serving Lamar's students and the Beaumont area for these past 30 years! His commitment to Christ and his example has made an impact that will ripple for generations to come.

Our History

Since 1948, Lamar Baptist Student Ministry has served as a consistent place for students to come to know Christ, grow in their relationship with Him, and learn to make Him known in their lives.

Our Purpose

Seek

Reach

Seeking God is at the center of all that is done in and through the life of a passionate follower of Christ. Students are taught to seek God through prayer and studying His word.

Matthew 6:33

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well."

Reach

Reaching others for Christ should be the heartbeat of a Christ follower. Students are challenged to be intentional about sharing their faith with all the people God has in their life. Roommates, classmates, friends and work associates are placed in their life for the opportunity to invest in them.

Teaching Truth is only possible by knowing the Truth. Many things are taught as truth on the college campus. Students are trained to know the Truth through studying the Word of God. They are encouraged to teach the Truth to those around them.

Sending Servants to meet needs is the responsibility of every Christ follower. Students are challenged to meet the needs of others wherever they find them. Some needs are as close as the room across the hall some are on the other side of the World.
